Adjusting the Sails

Last week I didn't do a lot that I can remember. Friday was our sad BYU game. Poor Chuckie Keeton... Saturday some people from Vernal came to town and I hung out with them. We did a lot of fun Logan stuff. It was good to get out! Sunday I drove with my grandparents to Orem to watch conference with my great grandpa. It was fun to spend time with them and conference was great! We also visited my aunts Hannah and Holly, and I was SO happy to see their cute kids! This week I worked, but on Monday, three of my roommates and one of our friends decided to go on a drive/play outside in the mountains. It was a much needed adventure, and we had a lot of fun skipping rocks, playing baseball with rocks, sticking our toes in the water, taking pictures, and just spending time outside. Yesterday was a great day because I went to the temple, and I made real food for dinner. So that's my week in a quick nutshell because I don't have a lot of time! USU vs. BYU I'm an annoy...

I need to do better about writing on here. The longer I wait the farther I get behind so I should probably not put it off! The past week and a half has been getting better and better. I didn't do anything really interesting. I've done homework and worked a lot. I've started swimming again. Which is good but rough!! I went to the temple twice last week. I love temple days. I don't know how I'd survive here without them. Last Friday Elaine S. Dalton came and spoke for us. It was so amazing!! I love that lady so much!! Saturday was the general Relief society meeting.  It was really great as well. I am excited for conference this weekend. I will have to miss the Saturday sessions for work, but I guess I will have to find time to watch them later. For roommate meals on Sunday I made german pancakes, then in the afternoon we had Navajo tacos... yum. I love my roommates and I love our meals. So far this week I have gone to school, ran or swam, and worked.  Work is ge...

This past week has had a lot of learning and growing and fun. I have been working at my new job and it's pretty good. I'm starting to feel more confident about it and it is a good job. Wednesday I went to the temple with some boys in my apartments. It was really good, and I am so grateful to be surrounded by worthy men because college feels a lot safer and easier with them around considering the fact that I don't have my daddy here. I have made it a goal to go to the temple at least once a week this year so we'll see. :) Thursday was my great grandma Irie Daphene Bailey Jarvis' funeral.  It was probably one of the best funerals I have been to because it recommitted me to become better than I am and inspired me to accomplish more as a person to affect others in the way that she did.  I will never forget her or her house, her tiny cupboard of toys, and whenever I make banana bread or cake I'll think of her :) I love her and I am excited to see her and my other ...

This week has been ridiculously long and busy.  I have done so many things and cried and laughed and had fun. So it was mostly good. I'll try to remember all the things that happened over the last week or so. Last sunday my roommates and I made steak, potatoes, fruit, and PIE! (I made the pie ;) Jessica and I got betta fish. I am glad. I like having him and he's a funny fish. Monday was a chalk dance.  It was a cool experience, but I'm not a huge fan of the death dust. It tasted so gross and dyed our tub purple. Another thing that happened on monday was I took a benadryl because my allergies were super horrible. Anyway, school really stunk because I felt like a zombie, then I realized I had taken the allergy pill and things made sense. Lesson learned. I went to the temple on Wednesday. It was really good. It is such a blessing to be calmed by the experiences there. It rained quite a bit this week. I love that. I love clouds and rain! Saturday I ran a 5K for homecomi...

So it's been a pretty crazy week. Last Sunday I drove down to Orem with my grandpa. That was really fun and good for me to have a nice chat with my grandpa Lauritz. We visited my great grandparents house. And... I got to see my family for the first time since I moved out. It was so fun. Monday was Labor Day. We did some shopping and visited with family. And I came home. Tuesday was great. I got a call in the morning... I got a job finally! I work at a bookstore cashiering and so far it's pretty fun. I've been trying to work out every day. I'm finally starting to figure out my schedule. School is still pretty good. I'm liking most of my classes. I can't really remember any more fun things that have happened this week. I went on 3 good runs. My favorite run was running to first dam with Jessica. We had a nice easy run and a big hill. I also swam today for the first time in a long time. I shared a lane with a super fast girl... I did my own grocery shopping all...

So this was the first week of my actual classes.  I love how college works! I'm finished so early in the day.   I'm taking Music, Civilization Humanities, Life Science, Math, and Institute. So far I really enjoy my classes, and I haven't had too much homework yet. This week consisted of more job hunting.  I am not having very much luck. I've had interviews and prospects, but so far nothing.  I have one I'm still hoping for, so lets hope that works out. I probably still have 20 applications and resumes out with no activity yet, so I'm really hoping that after the first week of school people have a good idea of what they need and hire me. Monday we had FHE. My bishop is a butcher so we have realllly good food.  My ward has a lot of really fun people in it as well. I donated blood on Tuesday. That was pretty good. Then I went to a decent concert. Wednesday we had an 80s dance. That was really fun.  The dressing up was probably the best part. The dance was ...

So, I'm already slacking a little bit in the update department. Oh well :) I will quickly go through the past week because it's been a BLAST! I've hung out with loads of people. My roommates are social so it's a good thing. I have gotten sore legs from walking. Last week I worked out a few days, then I was like, 'walking this hill is enough.' so I've been lazy since then. Hmm...last Monday we taught some boys to drive stick. And I went job hunting. Tuesday Jessica and I made PB and J smoothies, and I went job hunting. Wednesday Emily and I started Connections class. Mine was interesting. Of course I got the class that went from 9-5 while everyone else got finished at 3:30. Thursday I had connections. I went to the bank.  I had a job interview.  We went to a comedian/magician, and it was pretty funny! Friday I got to eat breakfast with the author of our Connections book. He is really cool.
